Providence Health & Services CNA Restorative Aide - Long Term Care in Seward, Alaska
Providence is calling a Certified Nursing Assistant Restorative (Long Term Care Nursing, Day Shift, 1 FTE) to Seward Mountain Haven in Seward, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Check in patients and takes vital signs. Assists health care providers in examining room if needed. Sets up special trays and supplies.
Accurately documents patient complaint and vitals. Accurately enters data into the computer information systems registering patients in ER.
Collaborates to ensure team success. Demonstrates professional interpersonal skills in communications with patients and others. Utilizes available resources.
Completes work accurately and timely. Works with team to achieve a wide range of department specific duties and activities to maintain maximum productivity. Is self directed and displays initiative to maintain personal productivity and flexibility.
Actively participates in Q.I. program by identifying opportunities, and recommending solutions. Maintains knowledge of all regulatory requirements and guidelines.
Performs competencies as identifies by the Competency Focused System process.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Successful completion of a state-approved nursing assistant course.
Must be able to use an alphabetic and numeric records filling process.
Computer keyboarding skills of 10 wpm.
Current State of Alaska Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
New CNA graduates and candidates that hold a current, unencumbered nurse assistant certification or registration from another U.S. state must obtain the State of Alaska certification within 4 months of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- 6 months experience as a nurse aide, nursing assistant or personal care attendant in long term care or hospital

Teams are self-managed, have consistent staffing, and have strong patient to caregiver ratio. Caregivers typically have 5:1 patient ratio and work 12-hour shifts.
