Providence Health & Services Emergency Preparedness/Safety Coordinator in Seward, Alaska

Description:

Providence is calling an Emergency Preparedness/Safety Coordinator (Emergency Preparedness, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Seward Medical Center in Seward, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

In this position you will:

  • Develop policies and procedures that facilitate compliance and program implementation.

  • Be responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of Emergency Preparedness and associated educational programs in accordance with regulatory agencies, including CMS and Homeland Security.

  • Coordinate local PSMCC involvement with Local, State and Federal Emergency Planning exercises as required.

  • Represent PSMCC on the Providence Health and Services Alaska (PHSA) Hospital Preparedness Program coalition to include maintenance and authoring of the PSMCC Emergency Operations Plan and implementing all aspects of that plan in accordance with regulatory agencies, including CMS guidelines and Homeland Security.

  • Establish mechanisms to collect, review, and track data required by local, state, and federal entities which are consistent with PSMCC policies and procedures.

  • Provide general oversight and participates in all disaster drills to include developing/updating of the PSMCC Emergency Operations plan (EOP).

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate's Degree

  • HAZWOPER certification within 12 months from date of hire

  • Certification in Healthcare Safety Professional to include completion of Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200, 700, and 800 within 1 year from date of hire

  • 4 years experience in healthcare related field to include Emergency Preparedness, Safety and/or regulatory compliance

  • Prior experience in program coordination

  • Familiar with healthcare emergency preparedness, including security, safety, HAZMAT, OSHA, NIMS, HICS, HVA, CMS and Joint Commission related criteria

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Experience in Emergency Preparedness and Safety
