Providence Health & Services Licensed Practical Nurse (Temporary) in Seward, Alaska
Providence is calling a Licensed Practical Nurse (LTC Nursing, Night Shift, 0.90 FTE, This is a temporary position ranging from 3-6 months. Housing assistance and a temporary vehicle are provided for the duration of the temporary role.) to Providence Seward Mountain Haven in Seward, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Be in charge of the resident care for a specific group of residents, to include, supervision of team members including Shahbazim.
Coordinate referrals to other members of the clinical support team, families and physicians.
Serve as the point of contact for elder information.
Be accountable for the delivery and supervision of safe, quality care that is individualized for their assigned patients and follows the nursing process in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act (assessment, planning implementation, evaluation).
Perform all duties in a manner that respects and supports the family centered care model.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an accredited school as a Licensed Practical Nurse
Current Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at time of hire from one of the following governing body
American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLS Provider)
American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health Care Provider)
Military Training Network (MTN) - (Healthcare Provider)
Complete Encore and Green House Model modules within 4 months of hire
Proficiency in medication administration
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- 6 months nursing experience in a health care facility

Teams are self-managed, have consistent staffing, and have strong patient to caregiver ratio. Caregivers typically have 5:1 patient ratio and work 12-hour shifts.
