In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Registered Dietitian and Dietary Services, prepares and serves meals and snacks per the posted menu and stated preferences of the Resident
Prepare foods for therapeutic menus according to dietetic specifications. Ensures all food safety rules are followed (ServSafe) by monitoring and documenting refrigerator, freezer, and dish machine temperatures
Serve meals to residents, follows portion control standards and follows physician diet orders. Is knowledgeable of resident allergies and preferences. Documents meal substitutions.
Responsible for recording food temperatures at each meal, per industry standards
Responsible for product receiving, stocking, rotation, dating, date checking and cleanliness of kitchen and food storage areas
Properly cleans and sanitizes related work area according to sanitary procedures and documents completion
Adhere to the safety requirements for daily operations. Maintains knowledge of emergency response protocols for residents and staff. Maintains a safe, comfortable and attractive environment
Alert Lodge Nursing Staff of changes in resident status. Documents care and interactions as required
Participate in all department team meetings and education opportunities
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association (AHA), RQI, upon hire or the ability to accomplish within thirty (30) days of date of hire
State of Alaska food handler permit or the ability to attain certification upon hire
Completion of State of Alaska approved feeding assistance program within six (6) months of hire
ServSafe certification within six (6) months hire
2 years experience in quantity food preparation required, including knowledge of hot and cold food preparation
