Providence Nurse Educator ($10,000 Sign On Bonus*) in Seward, Alaska
Providence is calling an Nurse Educator (Nursing, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Seward Medical and Care Center in Seward, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Develop and operationalize effective methods of educating patient care staff so they possess the knowledge, skills, and attitudes requisite for safe, competent and effective patient care practice.
Coordinate competency based orientation programs for new hires/transfers, may work with Providence Alaska Learning Institute’s (PALI) to facilitate goals.
Collaborate with other key stakeholders when developing, updating, and maintaining policies and procedures basing them on most current evidence.
Educator/Facilitator: Mentor and coach peers, preceptors and staff; Serve as a preceptor; Facilitate the adult learning process and actively involves the learner in all educational offerings; Enlist bedside staff to plan, develop, and present material; Evaluates outcomes. Restructure program or educational plan as needed for future endeavors. Develop and maintain a level of competency appropriate to one’s practice environment or area of expertise.
Change Agent/Team Member: Facilitates team building
Researcher/Consultant: Participate in and incorporates research and/or evidence-based practice as an advisor, investigator, collaborator, translator, integrator, or evaluator; Serves as a resource to individuals, groups, and organizations.
Leader/Communicator: Provide supportive educational resources and opportunities; Use effective communication skills; Demonstrate leadership on a professional level, maintaining appropriate competencies and involvement in activities at community, state and national levels; Influence change processes; Integrate ethical principles in all aspects of practice.
Collaborator/Advisor/Mentor: Support lifelong learning in collaboration with academic institutions, healthcare organizations, and professional nursing organizations; Support lifelong learning by advising/mentoring nurses as they execute a professional development plan.
Participate in appropriate hospital and unit based councils.
Other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduation from an accredited nursing school/program required.
3 years work experience in a clinical setting
Current Alaska RN License
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, STABLE
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
