Providence Health & Services Supervisor Security - Emergency Preparedness in Seward, Alaska
Providence is calling a Supervisor Security (Emergency Preparedness , Variable Shift, 1.0 FTE - 40 hours per week) to Providence Seward Medical Center in Seward, Alaska. In this position you will:
Be responsible for direct supervision and management of Security personnel, primarily including but not limited to training, scheduling, and work coordination
Assist the Security Manager with staff evaluation and disciplinary actions and acts on behalf of the Manager in the absence of the Manager
Regularly inspects the buildings and grounds areas to assure conformance with established safety standards and regulations
Make recommendations regarding actions required to correct unsafe conditions
Assist fire and life safety fire prevention activities to include: fire extinguishers, fire inspections, and the coordination of fire drills and follow-up activities
Be responsible for the Lost and Found Department and records of same
Coordinate Hospital participation in activities involving external law enforcement agencies
Assist in confidential investigations as directed by the Security Manager
Support other members by the performance of other duties supporting hospital and departmental functions, including Nursing, Safety, Emergency Management, and Facilities
Complete initial and annual Competency Plan for assigned job and department
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Obtain a valid Alaska driver's license in accordance with Alaska statute
Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within the first year of employment, and maintained current thereafter
Taser Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment or in accordance with training schedule, and maintained annually thereafter
Four (4) years experience in Law Enforcement, Department of Corrections, Security or military
Demonstrated written communication skills
Strong verbal communication and listening skills
Maintains a high degree of professionalism
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
Previous law enforcement training and supervisory experience - two of which is hospital related
Qualification in weaponry of various types, including handguns and chemical gasses
